![]() ![]() Hopefully, if they DO decide to make major changes, it is like when they pushed back "All About U" for a year, recorded new tracks, and called it "8701", because that's my second favourite Usher album in its final form. It’s been five years since the You Make Me Wanna star released his eighth and most recent album ‘Hard 2 Love’ and, back in 2019, Usher appeared to confirm work on a sequel to his hit 2004 LP ‘Confessions’. I hope that we still get a Confessions 2. AugInstagram Usher Usher has confirmed he has a new album in the works. So I am kind of starting to lose hope that the album might not come to fruition. I understand that COVID 19 might have changed/ruined plans for the album, but, I think with this amount of time having passed, they would need to start the cycle of releasing singles all over again to promote the album for when its released. Anyway, there's been no single released in six months, and talk of the album I feel has been basically non-existent in that time. These songs seemed like they were going to be from Usher's next album, but it turns out we had to wait until 2016 when he dropped the "Hard II Love" album and those songs weren't on there (Though I think some might be on Japanese versions of the album?). It reminds me a bit of when Usher put out "Good Kisser", "She Came to Give It to You", and "I Don't Mind" in 2014. I know its not unheard of to release singles over a while and then the album sometimes even years later, but this has me worried. ![]() Then in September Usher released "Bad Habits", my favourite song from the album yet!! I absolutely love these songs, and, as an huge Usher fan, they're probably my favourite songs from him since the original Confessions.Īnyway, I feel like this is a long amount of time that these songs are being released over. ![]() Then in April 2020 he dropped the new collab with Lil Jon and Ludacris, "SexBeat". At the end of the year, Usher dropped the lead single from the album, "Don't Waste My Time" with Ella Mai. So, if you are a die heart fan of Usher Albums then check out here we have list of Usher albums in order of release so far.I'm a diehard R&B fan, but this is my first post here :) Anyway, Usher teased that he was working on the sequel to Confessions way back in 2019, and from memory, posts shared by him and Jermaine Dupri on Instagram seemed to imply that work on the album was more or less complete. In 2011, he was given a Freedom Award by the National Civil Rights Museum. Additionally, Usher has also acted (in television, in movies, on Broadway), taken an ownership stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers, mentored a young Justin Bieber, and worked on both American Idol and The Voice, all while maintaining a steady presence in a variety of philanthropic causes. In late 2018, he celebrated his 40th birthday by releasing “A”, his ninth studio album. 1 singles in three consecutive decades-behind, among others, Michael Jackson. Confessions is an R&B album with some hip hop and crunk styles. ![]() It was produced by Jermaine Dupri, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Lil Jon. His 2004 album, Confessions, reportedly inspired by his breakup with TLC star Chilli, went not just Platinum but Diamond his 2010 single “OMG” made him only the fifth artist in history to have No. Confessions is the fourth studio album by American singer Usher. It was released on Mafrom Arista Records. The album was recorded between 20. Today, we revisit Usher’s 2004 album, a jam. He went on to become one of the most bulletproof figures in pop, capable of straddling club music (2004’s “Yeah!”), ballads (2004’s “Confessions Part II”), boundary-pushing R&B (2012’s “Climax”), and the kind of borderless, big-tent anthems everyone seems to agree on (2008’s “Love in This Club”). Each Sunday, Pitchfork takes an in-depth look at a significant album from the past, and any record not in our archives is eligible. That performance led almost instantaneously to a deal with LaFace Records, then home to TLC and Toni Braxton, with Usher releasing his self-titled debut album when he was just 15. See him on Star Search, circa 1991, singing Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road,” wading through a sea of admirers (“I was a ham,” he joked later). It turns out, Usher might be the closest thing we have to Jackson since Jackson himself-a singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, and consummate performer whose appeal seems to transcend genre and demographics.Ī pop star who’s hovered in the spotlight for three decades running, with little sign of slowing down.Born Usher Raymond IV in 1978, and raised in Chattanooga and Atlanta, Usher started his career at age 10, making the rounds and honing his craft on Atlanta-area talent shows. “I love you!” Usher replied, pointing back. Usher juked, Jackson followed suit, the two traded moves. Few moments define Usher’s career quite like that night in September 2001, when he stood opposite Michael Jackson at a sold-out Madison Square Garden and shared a dance. ![]()
